Prefabricated Data Center Design — Site To Handover In 24 Weeks

Accelerate sub-1 MW data center deployment with a prefabricated, TIA 942C-aligned design that is pre-engineered, pre-installed and pre-tested off-site. Reduce on-site complexity, shorten the critical path and move from site readiness to handover faster.

WHAT THIS SERVICE COVERS

A Pre - designed, Pre - Tested Solution For Data Center Capacity Requirements Below 1MW

The Prefabricated DC Design Pack covers the full lifecycle of a prefabricated data center deployment, from site selection and civil requirements through to factory-tested delivery and on-site installation, commissioning, and certification. The solution is built around a containerised or modular format, pre-designed to TIA 942C standards, and factory-tested before leaving the manufacturing facility. This eliminates the two most variable elements of a conventional build: on-site construction quality and first-time commissioning surprises. The typical deployment timeline from site finalisation to operational handover is 24 weeks. For sub-1MW requirements, the all-in cost is approximately thirty percent lower than a bespoke construction approach at equivalent reliability levels. The solution is well-suited to Edge deployments, enterprise satellite sites, and temporary or interim capacity requirements.

WHAT WE DELIVER

Deliverables From This Engagement

WHY TECHNAVIOUS

Why Prefabricated Is The Right Approach For Sub-1MW Requirements

Speed, cost, and quality certainty that a bespoke build cannot match at this scale.

24-week delivery from site finalisation to handover

The primary driver of the timeline advantage is that civil and utility site preparation work runs in parallel with factory manufacturing and testing. By the time the module arrives on site, civil works are complete and utility connections are ready.

~30% cost saving versus bespoke construction

Factory manufacturing eliminates the cost premium of on-site construction: materials are procured at volume, labour is controlled in a factory environment, and rework is identified and resolved before installation rather than after. The saving is consistently in the range of 25 to 35 percent at sub-1MW capacities.

Factory testing eliminates commissioning surprises

All systems are tested to TIA 942C standards at the factory before the unit leaves. Defects identified in the factory take hours to resolve. The same defects identified on site take days and carry the additional cost of disrupting site operations.

HOW WE WORK

How A Prefabricated DC Deployment Works

Five phases running in parallel where possible to achieve the 24-week timeline.

01
PHASE 01

Site & Scope

Site civil requirements confirmed. Capacity, tier, and use case agreed. Manufacturing programme initiated.

02
PHASE 02

Design & Manufacture

System design finalised. Factory assembly begins. Civil works run in parallel on site.

03
PHASE 03

Factory Testing

FAT conducted at factory. All systems tested and certified before dispatch.

04
PHASE 04

Site Delivery & Install

Module delivered to site. Civil interface completed. Utility connections made.

05
PHASE 05

SITC & Handover

On-site commissioning completed. HOTO documentation package delivered. Operational handover.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes. The Prefabricated DC Design Pack is designed and tested to TIA 942C standards, which defines reliability at the same rated levels as a conventionally constructed facility. Factory acceptance testing before dispatch produces a more rigorous quality assurance process than on-site commissioning of a bespoke build in most cases.

The prefabricated approach is most cost-effective and logistically practical for capacities below one megawatt. Above one megawatt, the logistics of transporting and installing large modular units become more complex, and the cost advantage relative to bespoke construction reduces. For requirements above one megawatt, we recommend a Detailed Design and Execution Pack engagement.

Yes. Modular prefabricated units are designed for relocation if required. Redeployment requires a new site feasibility assessment, civil interface design, and recommissioning, but the primary structure and installed systems can be relocated without significant modification. This is particularly relevant for temporary or interim capacity deployments.

Because the design documentation and FAT records are produced during the manufacturing programme, the documentation required for TIA 942C certification is substantially complete at handover. Formal certification typically completes within six to eight weeks of operational handover, which is faster than the typical timeline for a conventionally constructed facility.
